In case you missed this one, for a brief time Kansas considered removing President Barack Obama from the ballot this election. Why? Because the birther craziness knows no end. I’m so glad a panel of Republicans “decided” to allow Obama to remain on the ballot in Kansas. Uh, there was no decision to be made. He is the president. He is running for a second term. I’m not interested in fulfilling a narrative, I want to gets facts correct, but I will admit that I have biases like anyone else. However, I don’t consider politics to be a game like some do. I’d like to remind my friends on the left that we put people in boxes too. We are sometimes guilty of exclusionary thinking just as people on the right are. I think we are on the correct side of important issues like marriage equality, civil rights, women’s rights and so on, but that doesn’t mean we own moral superiority in every aspect of life, and it doesn’t mean we are right about everything or that we can always decipher someone’s motives.
