Voter Suppression Also Comes In The Form Of Long Lines
Since the 2010 midterm election, Republicans have deployed any and all tactics to suppress the vote for the 2012 election. Voter ID laws have gotten the front page coverage, but voter suppression also comes in the form of voter intimidation, voter registration purges and as we’ve seen this past week, long lines at the polls. Both Ohio and Florida, two critical swing states, have seen incredibly long lines during early voting with reports of some people in Florida waiting up to 7 hours to vote. This is not how democracy is supposed to work. It’s an outrage.

It defined that election and Republicans would like it to define this election.

Do Liberals and Democrats Demonize Wealth?
A recent Left Call commenter said, “What I totally don’t understand about you liberals, and Democrats in general, is how you so easily demonize the wealthy. I just don’t get it. You think that the Republican Party is just for the wealthy? That Conservatives are rich people alone?”

The Problem is not Debt, it is Dysfunction
The federal deficit is averaging in the mid one trillion range for several years now. Total federal debt is almost $16 trillion. These are massive numbers for sure, and they should concern us, but it is not these numbers for which to focus our attention. Instead, our focus should be on the dysfunction in government, and I say this as a liberal who believes in a government of the people.

Political Mudslinging: Some are just plain dirty

Paul Ryan: Member of the Republican Obstructionist Party Controlling the House
Congress’ approval rating is lower than that of former Vice President Dick Cheney, and that’s really hard to pull off! Yet this didn’t stop Mitt Romney from choosing Paul Ryan, a member of congress, more specifically, a member of the majority obstructionist party controlling the House. In the era of the Obama administration, obstructionist is just another way of saying Republican. Mitt Romney didn’t have to choose a current member of congress, but that is exactly what he did, and so the low approval rating of congress will be part of the critique of the Romney-Ryan campaign. And President Obama wasted no time making this connection in a speech on Monday in Iowa:
