The Hill reports that 28 members of the Democratic caucus, including majority leader Harry Reid, have signed a letter in opposition to Social Security cuts as part of a deficit reduction plan. The letter was a product of Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Senator Al Franken (D-MN), Senator Mark Begich (D-AK) and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).

Nine cast members of “The West Wing” (NBC, 1999-2006) reunite for a four-minute mini episode titled “Walk and Talk the Vote.” The mini episode actually serves as an informational ad instructing voters about filling out the “non-partisan” section of their ballot, as well as a campaign ad for Bridget Mary McCormack who is running for Michigan Supreme Court. She is the sister of actress Mary McCormack, who was a West Wing cast member from 2004 through 2006.

Pennsylvania Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R), sponsor of PA’s voter ID law, says a lot of people are “too lazy to get up and get out there and get the ID they need.” Just as they [Republicans] have no proof of widespread voter fraud, they also have no proof that “a lot of people” are lazy. It’s simply an invented narrative, and it is pervasive on the Right.

During his “Number of the Day” segment on Viewpoint, Eliot Spitzer tells us that The Wall Street Journal has published 20 op-ed articles written by Romney advisers without disclosure. Essentially these articles are free advertisements for the Romney campaign in a prominent newspaper.

If I had to pick one single word in the “Romney fundraiser secret video” that I believe is the biggest disqualifier for Mitt Romney to become president, it would be this — He included “food” in his list of government entitlements. Here’s the quote:

I can’t help but think the Pennsylvania Supreme Court wanted to take the easy road on this ruling when they decided to send the Voter ID case back to a lower court for reconsideration. That means the law is still in effect but is pending yet another court review. The lower court has until October 2nd to issue a ruling.
