Obama’s ‘you didn’t build that’ remark leads to yet another lie by Romney and conservatives

In a speech last week President Obama had his Elizabeth Warren moment. The president accurately explained (although he could have worded it better) why government has a role in the economy. At no time did Obama say that business owners aren’t responsible for creating their own businesses. He’s only pointing out what should be obvious unless you are someone who believes without proof that government is always evil or wrong. In other words, a right-wing partisan hack.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Hires Muslim, Tea Party Bigots Go Insane

Tennessee Republicans and bat-shit-crazy Tea Party activists are steaming mad that their governor, a Republican, had the gall to hire a well qualified person to a government position. That well qualified person’s name is Samar Ali. Oh, and did I forget to mention that she’s a Muslim? Ah, now it makes more sense, right? Not really, but at least it’s not beyond the realm of expectations for a southern state.

Pennsylvania’s Voting Problem – Partisan Hackery Looks To Rule The Upcoming Presidential Election

Philadelphia Inquirer Staff Writer Bob Warner reports, “More than 758,000 registered voters in Pennsylvania do not have photo identification cards from the state Transportation Department, putting their voting rights at risk in the November election, according to data released Tuesday by state election officials.” This is a staggering number and it represents over 9 percent of the over 8 million registered voters in Pennsylvania. The number of voters who will be disenfranchised this election is still unknown, and is not likely to ever be known, but based on this report we know over three-quarters of a million voters face the possibility of being turned away at the polls. This is just one state!

Romney says he’s ‘convinced’ Obama ‘wants Americans to be ashamed of success’

Last week President Obama said, “Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in the roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” For anyone who actually watched that entire section of Obama’s speech it was obvious the “you didn’t build that” line was referring to roads and bridges, not the business. It certainly wasn’t Obama’s most eloquent sequence of words, but there’s no mistaking the point he was making unless you are trying to distort what he said to mislead your audience. This is where Fox News comes in. They had no problem creatively editing together a few lines of Obama’s speech and then getting all their pundits to pounce all at once.
