Mitt Romney cruised to an easy victory in the Florida Primary and wins Florida’s 50 delegates. Last check before print, Romney led with 47% over Newt Gingrich with 32%, Rick Santorum with 13% and Ron Paul with 7%.

Romney has won two of the first four contests of the primary season and his delegate count now stands at 70. Gingrich has 23 delegates, Santorum 11 and Paul 6.

Acknowledging the competitiveness of the GOP race, Romney said during his victory speech, “a competitive primary does not divide us, it prepares us”.

Newt Gingrich said he will stay in the race for the duration. Undaunted by Romney’s victory, Gingrich said the Florida results confirm it’s now a “two-person race”.

Both Rick Santorum and Ron Paul stated they would stay in the race.

Next up is the Nevada Caucus this Saturday, February 4th.
