Dear Liberals, Regarding The Affordable Care Act

Dear liberals and Democrats, I have a short message regarding the Affordable Care Act followed by a tiny request. Actually, this message is specifically concerning all the problems people are having when trying to logon to the new federal health care exchange website (HealthCare.gov). And I can already sense you turning on me at this very moment, but please, stick around for just a few more moments.

Medicare Single-Payer vs. Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)

The overwrought and repugnant response to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) by Looney Tunes Tea Party “activists” and by many so-called mainstream Republicans, is patently absurd in a country that already has a nearly 50-year-old single-payer, government-run, health care insurance program called Medicare. And I purposely include “insurance” in the description of Medicare, because that’s exactly what it is. It is NOT socialized medicine. You still see your private doctor with Medicare. You can still go to a private hospital with Medicare.

Moderates Wake Up, Tea Party Republicans Are Not Conservatives, They Are Radical Anarchists

I really wish moderate conservatives could be honest with themselves and with the rest of us. I wish they could look past their ideology to see the people they support with their votes or their silence are not fellow conservatives. I’m talking about Tea Party Republicans who control the GOP and who are responsible for the government shutdown. These dissidents are no conservatives. They are radicals. I used to call them right-wing radicals but they are beyond left and right. In fact, some of them could be considered anarchists, at least when it comes to formal governing. They might still believe in an order of hierarchy along other avenues, like patriarchy, but when it comes to government, especially the federal government, they are partisan firebrand agitators worshiping at the altar of demagoguery and malcontent, while speaking the language of cynicism.

35-Year-Old Afghanistan Veteran Writes That He’s On Food Stamps, Tells Republicans He Would Prefer Not To Starve

If you are a Republican in congress voting to cut food stamp funding, you must convince yourself you are doing right by the people. You don’t want people telling you that you are an uncaring person who wants people to starve, because you don’t see it that way. So you must utilize a series of lies to assure your psyche of absolution, that you are only participating in this exercise out of concern and love for those less fortunate. Because you are the adult in the room. You are the authority on this topic. You must teach people a hard life lesson, and possibly be the bad guy for a while, for the people to see the light.

House Republicans Vote To Cut Food Stamps For Two Million Children

This is definitely an occasion for a slightly misleading article headline. And I say “slightly” because it’s actually true. Okay, Republicans didn’t explicitly vote to cut food stamps for children, but children do make up half of food stamp recipients. Therefore, when House Republicans voted today to cut food stamps by $4 billion a year over the next ten years, estimated to affect up to four million people, that means up to two million children will go hungry because of contemptuous conservatives.
