Countdown To Extinction: Santorum Endorsed By Dave Mustaine Of Megadeth
The stage is set for a Santorum presidency now that Megadeth frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine has bestowed his endorsement upon Rick Santorum. With the bigot in chief‘s place firmly established, will we all pay the price?
I’m just hoping that whatever is in the White House next year is a Republican. I can’t bear to watch what’s happened to our great country. Everybody’s got their head in the sand. Everybody in the industry is like, ‘Oh, Obama’s doing such a great job…’ I don’t think so. Not from what I see.
You know, I think Santorum has some presidential qualities, and I’m hoping that if it does come down to it, we’ll see a Republican in the White House… and that it’s Rick Santorum.
It’s a headcrusher of a thought
And I have the right to go insane
Because I’m sweating bullets
Could this be the endgame?
I sure hope not. This can’t possibly be how the story ends.
No word yet on the official Santorum/Megadeth campaign theme song but early unconfirmed reports point to Ashes In Your Mouth.

The countdown has been halted as Mustaine has clarified his earlier comments telling Billboard he has not endorsed any candidate for president.
From Billboard – Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Not Ready to ‘Endorse’ Santorum:
“Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate,” the rocker said in a release after earlier reports had him backing Republican Rick Santorum on Wednesday. “What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I’ve seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word ‘endorse’. “
