Philly Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey: “There needs to be reasonable gun control”
On “This Week”, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey told George Stephanopoulos, “I have an issue with people being able to buy ammunition and weapons on the Internet…I don’t know why people need to have assault weapons…There needs to be reasonable gun control put in place. And we talk about this constantly, and absolutely nothing happens, because many of our legislators, unfortunately, at the federal level, lack the courage to do anything.”
This is not the first call from top law enforcement officials for tougher gun laws after the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting. It seems we want to have it both ways. We hear many calls from the Right for us to listen to our law enforcement officials and give them the tools they need. Many of these same people on the Right go deaf when law enforcement officials call for tougher gun laws.
