Bill O’Reilly says Democrats made African-Americans dependent
Bill O’Reilly is a blowhard ignoramus. He and his fellow Fox News stooges have convinced their old, white and conservative audience that blacks vote Democratic because they can get “free stuff,” as Mitt Romney recently said.
The real reason blacks vote overwhelmingly for Democrats is because the Democratic Party made civil rights a key part of its platform in the 1960s. The Republican Party, on the other hand, has become increasingly hostile towards minorities and civil rights. This might have something to do with all those southern white racists who switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party and slowly over the course of a few decades they have rotted the GOP base from the core. This is a history lesson people like Bill O’Reilly are not signing up to teach, even if they know it’s true, which is questionable. They are quite happy to keep their audience ignorant because it suits their goals.
