Gov. Rick Perry Rejects Texas Implementation Of Obamacare

So Texas governor Rick Perry says his state will not act on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) Medicaid expansion nor will it move forward on setting up a health care insurance exchange.

In case you aren’t aware, Texas is pretty bad when it comes to health care coverage. Over 6 million Texas residents lack health insurance coverage.

Oh, and in case you aren’t aware, the Medicaid expansion is 100% match by the federal government the first few years, after which it is still a 90% match. So essentially Perry is condemning his state to poorer health care for the sake of making a political statement.

I hate to break it to Perry, but if Texas doesn’t set up their health care insurance exchange, the federal government will do it for them.

I’m sure that will go over well.
