Video: Mark Ruffalo Talks ‘Hydro-Fracking’ On Colbert Report
Actor Mark Ruffalo has taken a high-profile stance against hydraulic fracturing otherwise known as ‘hydro-fracking’ or simply ‘fracking’. He was the guest on The Colbert Report last night. Watch the highly entertaining (and important) interview below.
Hydraulic fracking is a special drilling technique that uses high pressure fluid (with many harmful chemicals) to fracture rock deep underground to release trapped natural gas or petroleum. The biggest environmental concern for fracking is contamination of drinking water.
But hey, as long as it creates jobs right? That’s the most important thing. That’s what those American Petroleum Institute and Exxon commercials want us to believe anyway.
