Anti-Obama Delusion: A Judge, A Racist Email, And A Half-Apology
The delusional anti-Obama crowd now has one more certified member, Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull of Billings Montana. In a report by the Great Falls Tribune, Judge Cebull, admitted on Wednesday that he forwarded a racist email to 6 recipients.
The subject of the email is “A MOM’S MEMORY” and the content reads:
Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.
A little boy said to his mother,
“Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?”His mother replied,
“Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!”
Head to RightWingWatch to see the email as it appeared to Judge Cebull.
This email is bad enough, but let’s face it, we’ve seen much worse from the delusional Obama haters. No, what makes this situation worse is Judge Cebull’s response.
It was not intended by me in any way to become public…I apologize to anybody who is offended by it, and I can obviously understand why people would be offended.
The only reason I can explain it to you is I am not a fan of our president, but this goes beyond not being a fan…I didn’t send it as racist, although that’s what it is. I sent it out because it’s anti-Obama.
Yes, he does apologize, but it’s one of those half-apologies that have been all the rage in recent years. Instead of owning it and making a full, unqualified apology, his apology apparently only extends to those who were offended by the email. If you only found it distasteful, then no apology required. A real apology means you take ownership of your offense. When you take ownership of your wrong-doing, there’s no need to single out the “offended”.
